A happy reunion of the gathered communion in Europe
After two years of Corona-distancing, the European Area Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches met in Thessaloniki on 4-6 May 2023.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Those who work dream of fruit(s). When farmers plough the land and sow the seed, they already think about the crop. While raising their children, parents already see mature adults in them who would cope with different situations in life. Pastors’ spiritual eyes see those whom God brings into the kingdom of heaven through their sermons when preaching the Word of God.

There are around 3.700 unaccompanied refugee children and youth in Greece, of which it is estimated that a quarter are reported to be in very insecure living conditions. These youth often struggle for basic needs and most lack the support networks necessary to overcome the trauma stemming from violence in their countries of origin and the inadequate living conditions in Greece. The recent floods in Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium have led to a catastrophic loss of life and livelihood. At the time of writing, 164 persons are confirmed dead, while a further 1,300 persons are still missing in Germany alone.
